Academic Poster

The purpose of an academic poster is to encompass the whole research project in a succinct and easy to read poster.

The poster should include the following sections:

Introduction which briefly introduces my topic and to emphasize the goal.

Methods that describe the stimuli that will progress through the project.

Results which describe the results of the project.

At a minimum these sections should be there, but ultimately its an advertisement of my whole research project that shows the skills that I will be using across it.

Here was my first attempt at the poster:

We had a critique session where we all commented on each others work and gave constructive critisism in order to help our posters progress in the right direction towards the end of the project.

Here were some of the comments about my poster:

- Love the art style

- Creepy atmosphere is obvious through sketches

- Great concept

- Is there a basic script you are using as reference?

- Background a little too dark

- Not enough visuals

So with some of these comments in mind I went on to re-do my poster to achieve a better representation of my project and synthesis between practical and theoretical studies. here was my second attempt which I was much happier about.

Instead of putting too much effort into the aesthetic I wanted to include more relevant information in a more readable way which is why I changed the font. also I added more synthesis to the theory and added more visuals to assist with the supporting information.

I was later told that the background was a bit too distracting so I decreased the opacity which gave it a great look over all with out being distracting or making it hard to read.

Here is the final poster which I think reflects my project well and has all the information required to assist the viewer in better understand my project before reading it.
